We are continuing to move forward in Unit 2, our goal will be to deepen our understanding of ratios this week. So far in this unit we have learned how to represent ratios with diagrams and double number lines. This week we will add in displaying ratios in a table. Using these different methods our focus will be on solving ratio application problems. Below you can find the links to your classwork Nearpods, to access them go to https://nearpod.com/student/ and input the link from below. Be prepared to have your UNIT 2 Test next Friday October 30th!
Monday - Unit 2 Lesson 10 - GPC9J
Tuesday - Unit 2 Lesson 11 - V4PDB
Wednesday - Unit 2 Lesson 12 - JS8TA
Thursday - Unit 2 Lesson 13 - TP4FH
Friday- Ratio Review #2 - JQ57
Week of 10/13 to 10/16
Welcome back from a long weekend! Hopefully everyone is feeling well rested and ready to learn some more about ratios. Last week in class we discussed what ratios are and how we can find them. You practiced drawing diagrams and doubling or tripling them. This week will examine another way of displaying ratios using number lines. Using the number lines, we create we will be answering ratio application problems. Each day you will complete a student paced Nearpod with practice problems. To access classwork, go to https://nearpod.com/student/ and input the daily code from below.
Monday- No school
Tuesday - 36MTB
Wednesday – CFREX

October 5th – October 9th
We have a great start to remote learning! Last week we finished up our study of 2-dimensional shapes, and this week we will begin our study of ratios. This week you will learn what a ratio is, how to create equivalent ratios, and how to use specific ratio language. Monday we are MAP testing so there will be no work assigned for class. Below you can find link to your graded Nearpod work. To access the work go to https://nearpod.com/student/ and type in the code for each day.
Monday - MAP Math testing
Tuesday - Ratio Lesson 1- Code KODCL
Wednesday – Unit 2 Lesson 3- Code VIBTS
Thursday- Unit 2 Lesson 4- Code DUPKY
Friday - Ratio Review #1 – Code ZQNBX

September 28th – October 2nd
This week we will be half way through Unit 1! We will finish our examination of two dimensional shapes to calculate area. Tuesday and Wednesday we will continue our study of triangles. Thursday will focus on breaking up complex figures into 2 or more polygons to find area. On Friday we will complete the mid unit assessment. All sixth graders will be completing MAP testing on Monday afternoon, if you miss math class because of math testing, there will be no work to complete. If you are in homeroom 208 or 207 you will spend Monday reviewing what we did last week. I have been so impressed with everyone’s positivity and motivation online the last two weeks, keep it up!
Assigned work:
All assignments this week will be given in a Nearpod, using this website you have the ability to draw on the assigned problems. To access each assignment go to https://nearpod.com/student/ and put in the individual code for each day. Complete each problem by drawing right on the slide, when you have completed each problem make sure you hit submit button. When you have completed the nearpod please go back into teams and click the turn in button so I can grade your work with feedback.
