Fall Remote Learning Plan
Information and FAQ’s
DISTANCE LEARNING: A FRESH START SUPPORTING THE WHOLE CHILD
We place academic learning in the context of physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Students will be supported in the transition back to school with an increased focus on consistency.
LIVE INTERACTION
Students participate daily in real-time interaction, including class meetings and instruction from their teacher(s).
ENGAGING LEARNING CONTENT
In order to provide the most engaging instruction for our students, teachers will participate in regular professional development.
DAILY & WEEKLY SCHEDULES
Students will have structured schedules to allow for clarity and consistency.
REQUIRED ATTENDANCE
Daily participation is required for students. Attendance will be taken every period. Cameras are encouraged and students need be visually represented to be marked present. If the student’s camera is off, there is no way for the staff to verify if the student is present.
GRADING
Classwork and Homework will be assigned to students. Students are expected to complete assignments in the allotted time and turn in via teams and or email. Teachers are expected give feedback to students verbally, utilizing teams and or email. Assignments will be reviewed and graded by teachers.
CONSISTENT COMMUNICATION
School staff will be in regular communication with families, also known as the primary person. Teachers and staff make recommendations to STAT for any students and families that need additional support.
SAFE ONLINE ENVIRONMENT
We take cyber bullying very seriously. To keep all students safe, we encourage proper use of the computer.
SCHEDULE
Our students will have 6 periods of live instruction every day. All students will have daily advisory period from 7:50 to 8:00 to help with organization and teambuilding. We will have regular virtual classroom, the periods will contain whole group instruction, small group instruction, and independent work. Students will also be assigned homework.

INSTRUCTIONAL MINUTES
State law requires all students to have a minimum number of instructional minutes per day. These minutes may include a combination of live instruction, independent work, homework assignments, and/or assessments.
TEACHERS WILL TEACH SYNCHRONOUS CLASS AND LIVE
Live, Synchronous classes = teacher is presenting instruction via Teams and students are in the virtual classroom engaging in the class with teacher and students.
EXPANDING OPTIONS FOR STUDENTS WITH INDIVIDUAL EDUCATION PLANS (IEPS)
Students with IEPs will receive remote pull-out services with their Special Education teacher. Special Education Teachers in our Life Skills classes have designed and sent home hard copies of lessons so all students may have materials in hand when receiving instruction.
STUDENTS WITH SECTION 504 PLANS
To the extent possible, accommodations in an individual student’s Section 504 plan will remain unchanged during remote learning.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT
Students who are English Language Learners will continue to receive support from their classroom teacher and designated English Language teacher.
ALL STUDENTS WILL RECEIVE INTERVENTION
Students will receive reading and math intervention.
CULTURE
Dress Code:
* Students do not have to wear uniforms for remote learning, all dress needs to be school-appropriate.
* When we resume in-person learning the student dress code will be in adhered to.
Lunch:
Will be 11pm to 12 pm everyday.
